Proactive traits can be seen among people who are not especially constrained by situational forces. They can be very adaptable and flexible towards problems they faced. The tend to take action and preserve in challenging situation whereby they perceive opportunity. In short, they are good at locating opportunity and pursuing relentlessly.

Jeff Bezos was born in 12th January 1964, an American entrepreneur and investor. He is a technology entrepreneur as the founder and CEO of Amazon.com. Amazon became the largest retailer on the World Wide Web and a  model for internet sales. Jeff Bezos is ranked at 5th on the Forbes list of billionaires.

He was a successful entrepreneur since he was young. In the year of 1994, he was the youngest ever senior vice president at Wall Street Investment Banker D.E. Shaw & Co. When he was 30-year-old, he was already making an estimated six-figure salary and was destined to rise even further in the company ranks. But, Jeff had other plans. He has a secret passion which is infant business of electronic retailing and dreamed of creating his own company in the vast, then virtually uncharted wilds of the World Wide Web. It was a risky move, but it quickly paid off. 4 years in time, Jeff created Amazon.com, the virtual bookstore became the template for how e-commerce businesses should be run, with the sales of more than $610 million and more than 13 million customers worldwide. From his story, we can see that he is proactively pursuing his dream in owning a company and he take action immediately in order to achieve his dream. No matter how challenging the situation is, he still be flexible and adaptable in owning an e-commerce businesses.



Amazon.com have a mission which is “Our vision is to be the world's most consumer-centric company, where customers can come to find anything they want to buy online." In order to achieve this mission, Jeff Bezos be proactive by taking a few action steps. In the year of 2013, he published the letter to shareholders. The letter had inspired most of companies to change the way they do business. Specifically, it inspire companies to do business the way Amazon does business which was scarifying this year profit to invest long-term customer loyalty and product opportunities that will create bigger profits next year and for years thereafter. A great entrepreneur is not only focusing on his own business but he take initiative to share with every company about their good case practice just wanted to have a healthy business world. This letter also a new initiative to boost up the confidence of shareholders and appreciation towards customer and shareholders are included. All these done by Jeff had clearly portrayed the positive side of being a great entrepreneur.
